A little bit about this cartoon...
This political cartoon was drawn as the 2004 election was winding down. Bush needed something big to help boost his numbers, and the baseball playoffs were in full swing (bad pun, I know). As a lifelong Red Sox fan, I had extreme difficulty drawing the Yankee pinstripes on Bush's uniform. But in cartooning, nothing says "baseball uniform" any better. Come to think of it, nothing says "Evil Empire" any better either! -Jim
